SAPS provides psychological support, counselling and trauma debriefing to its members through the Employee Health and Wellness (EHW) programme, including trauma debriefing after traumatic incidents, individual counselling and psychotherapy, crisis intervention and suicide prevention programmes, and ongoing aftercare and follow-up support for members and their families.
SAPS states that EHW services are available on a 24-hour basis through provincial and national EHW structures.
