Families or guardians of learners with severe to profound intellectual disability aged 6–19 may apply to place their child at Thuthukani Special School, which serves learners from Empangeni, Richards Bay, eNseleni, Kwa-Mbonambi, eSikhaweni, Ngwelezana, and other rural areas.
