Terminate electricity connection
You can terminate your existing electricity connection if you are no longer residing in eThekwini. This can be done at any Customer Service Centre or by emailing revlineterms@durban.gov.za. You must submit a termination request, copy of the property owner’s ID, a signed letter from an attorney confirming the transfer, and your contact details.

Transfer electricity account after owner's death
If the property owner has passed away, the account can be transferred to the estate and then to the beneficiary. You must obtain a Letter of Authority or Executorship from the Master of the High Court and take it to Revenue Billing (Treasury) or a nearby Sizakala Centre to initiate the transfer.
