Learners can take part in knitting activities during the second and third terms as part of Mandela Day. Knitted items are donated to charity, including those made by Wynberg Families.

Boys from Grades 1 to 7 can join a Wynberg Family, where they meet with peers from other grades twice or three times per term. Each family is led by a Grade 7 boy to develop leadership skills. Sessions focus on topics like respect, friendship, bullying, and include games and open discussions.

Students visit the Douglas Murray Old Age Home at Christmas time to deliver care packs and entertain residents with music and lucky draws.
