The Western Cape Government, through its partnership with SA Red Cross Air Mercy Service (AMS), provides emergency air ambulance services for patients in rural and remote areas who need urgent, highly specialised medical care. This includes airlifting injured road users after crashes and conducting rescue operations on land and sea, including mountain and sea rescues for hikers and sea goers in hard-to-reach locations.
