The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) hosts a monthly blood drive in Graaff-Reinet every second Monday afternoon from 14:00 to 18:00 at Te Water Hall in Bourke Street. Individuals who are over 16 years old, weigh more than 50kg, and maintain a healthy lifestyle are encouraged to donate blood and save up to three lives per unit.

Grade 7 learners from Union Primary School can participate in a year-long exchange programme with Salisbury Cathedral School in the UK, spending a term in the UK after their Grade 7 year, followed by UK learners visiting South Africa. This opportunity is part of a long-standing tradition that also allows some learners to do a Gap Year at Salisbury after matriculation.

Parents of children experiencing learning and behavioural challenges can access information about Integrated Learning Therapy, a programme designed to identify and address the root causes of such difficulties through remedial movement and other activities. Tickets are available for a formal dinner dance event celebrating the 100th anniversary of Union High School. The event will be held on Friday, 3 May, in a marquee on the school's sports grounds and will include top-class catering, a cash bar, dancing, and entertainment.
