A formal, binding process where an arbitrator appointed by NERSA adjudicates on unresolved electricity disputes after reviewing evidence. The decision of the arbitrator is legally binding on the parties involved.

The remaining balance of R18.987 billion from the settlement has not yet been determined and will be addressed in future regulatory decisions. This portion remains pending further assessment and planning.
