Initiation school principals can apply for a permit to conduct customary initiation during the 2026 summer season. Applications must be submitted between 1 September 2026 and 2 October 2026. The permit ensures that initiation activities comply with the Customary Initiation Act and occur during official school holidays without disrupting academic terms.

This form allows bidders to claim preference points based on specific goals such as Black ownership, Women ownership, Youth ownership, PwD ownership, and Military Veterans ownership. Bidders must submit proof of their achievement levels to qualify for up to 20 points across these categories.

Eligible Grade 5 girls aged nine years and older can receive a single dose of the HPV vaccine (Cervarix) through the Gauteng school-based vaccination campaign. Parents/caregivers/legal guardians must sign and return consent forms to the schools; no learner will be vaccinated without a signed consent form (except that learners aged 12 years and older may provide their own consent per national health guidelines).
