A personalized card that allows individuals and businesses to purchase fresh produce at the Durban Fresh Produce Market. It is required for all purchases and must be obtained by submitting an application form with ID and address proof, and for businesses, registration documents. The card is collected within two working days.

Buyers can purchase fresh produce from any of the six market agents by selecting items and quantities, receiving a docket, and presenting it with their buyer’s card to a terminal operator. Upon processing, they receive a produce removal note to collect the goods.

Struggling residents may qualify for free basic services including free electricity, 6kl of free water, sewage disposal for usage below 300 litres per day, and free refuse removal under the municipality's Indigent policy.

Customers with debt accumulated up to January 2025 can pay 50% of their outstanding balance and the city will write off the remaining 50%. This applies to residential and business customers, including those with unpaid water loss claims.
