Learners in grades 8 to 11 may be elected as representatives on the RCL by their peers. The election is held in the second week of February each year. Candidates must be nominated in writing and seconded, and learners with 50 or more demerits under the school's Code of Conduct are ineligible.

Learners who repeatedly violate the school's Code of Conduct may be required to attend detention once a week on a Tuesday afternoon from 14:35 to 15:15 in their own classroom. During this time, they are not allowed to do homework or study but may reflect or read. The duration may be extended to one hour if deemed necessary.
