Children can join weekly group riding lessons ranging from 30 to 45 minutes, with small groups of no more than five students. Lessons focus on show jumping, dressage, equitation, eventing, and showing, and are available for beginners up to Grade 7. Individual lessons can also be arranged.

Grade 6 students participate in an annual hike to Injisuthi as part of their grade outing. They sleep overnight in caves and carry all their own supplies, learning perseverance and teamwork.

Grade 5 students visit the Crane Foundation to interact with endangered crane species, gaining awareness about extinction and conservation.

Grade 4 students grow vegetables in a school vegetable patch throughout the year and sell their produce at a Farmer’s Market in the fourth term, learning about farming and entrepreneurship.

Children at Clifton Primary School can participate in a badge-based outdoor education programme that includes tasks such as First Aid, Camp Craft, Farming, Weather Watcher, Conservationist, Adventurer, Life Skills, Base Manager, Clifton Traditions, and Orienteering. Completing three badges earns a Bronze certificate, six a Silver, and all ten a Gold certificate.

Grade 7 students go on an annual trip to Botswana to experience the African Bushveld. Activities include night drives, star gazing, game watching, and hiking in Thuli Game Reserve, fostering a deep connection with nature.

Students from grades 3 to 7 take part in guided mountain hikes every term. These self-sufficient outings involve hiking into the Drakensberg, sleeping overnight in caves or tents, and developing perseverance and teamwork skills.

Parents may arrange private lessons for their children with individual teachers for instruments such as piano, guitar, drums, violin, flute, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and voice.
