Learners who achieve excellence in academics may be awarded academic honorary colours, which are presented during the February Academic Prizegiving. Eligibility is based on achievements in the previous year (January–December), and applicants must meet attendance and conduct requirements.

- Applications are submitted by the Head of Academics to the Merit Committee with supporting evidence; final approval is given by the committee and signed by the Principal.
Learners may wear lapel pins or badges to display their merit achievements. Only current-year items are allowed, and placement follows specific rules: leadership/achievement pins on the left lapel, up to three other pins on the right lapel, with only the highest award displayed per activity.

Academic half colours are awarded to learners who achieve high standards in academics but do not qualify for honorary colours; they are presented during the February Academic Prizegiving.
