New Grade 8 learners receive an Affie keppie during orientation and wear it until their final school day, when the principal removes it.

AHMP-leerders can wear the keppie at special occasions and every Friday for assembly. New grade 8 learners first have to earn the privilege through the orientation process, after which the principal presents it to them.
