Medical aid card collection on campus
Students can collect their medical aid cards directly from consultants representing Momentum, Compcare, and Absa while they are on campus. These consultants visit Rhodes University every two weeks on Thursdays between 11am and 2pm after O-Week.

Medical aid cover for international students
International students at Rhodes University must have medical aid coverage for the entire academic year. The coverage must be provided by a scheme recognised by the South African Council of Medical Schemes. Students must bring a confirmation letter proving they have paid for the full year's coverage.
By law, all international students in South Africa are required to be covered by a South African medical aid provider for the duration of their studies in South Africa. Rhodes University will only register international students who can provide proof that they have medical aid cover for the duration of the whole year that they are registering for.
