Dbsa Energises Local Independent Power Producers

This press release announces the successful commissioning of Ilanga CSP 1, a 100 MW concentrated solar power plant in the Northern Cape, developed by local entities and supported by the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA). The DBSA provided R1.1 billion in development capital and acted as lead arranger for the project, which displaces over 340,000 tons of CO2 annually and serves 100,000 households. The DBSA also operates a project development facility to support renewable energy projects across South Africa.
