Additional subject study beyond the core 7
Learners may choose to study an eighth or ninth subject, provided they secure a registered practitioner. The cost of such additional subjects for the National Senior Certificate (Matric) is borne by the parents.

Selection of Grade 10-12 subject package
Grade 9 learners at Westville Boys' High School can select their full subject package for Grades 10 to 12. This includes seven compulsory subjects and two elective subjects chosen from a list. The selection is made in consultation with parents and the school during the third term.
In the third term all Grade 9 pupils – in consultation with their parents and the School – must select a course of study comprising 7 subjects.
