The right tools made available to enable the task to be performed safely

The standard prohibits makeshift and homemade hand tools on company premises and states that the right tools will be made available so that work can be performed safely. Hand tools used on site must be in good condition and safe for use, fitted with approved handles where handles are required, and used only for the purpose they were designed for; defective tools are withdrawn and repaired, replaced or destroyed.
