Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) junk

This is a news/media statement from the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) announcing that ICASA has approved an amendment to Hot 1027 FM (Pty) Ltd’s Individual Commercial Sound Broadcasting Service (I-CSBS) licence. Hot 1027 FM applied on 2 September 2024 under section 10(1) of the Electronic Communications Act, 2005 to amend Clause 5 (Format) of its licence, changing the programming format from a 50% Classical Music / 50% Old Skool and R&B split to a format with more Old Skool and R&B. ICASA Council approved the amendment at its meeting on 18 June 2026, setting the licence condition to 15% Classical Music and 85% Old Skool and R&B Music.
