Supervised Master's Research Project: Studying the Brightest Radio Sources in the Southern Sky

This opportunity allows a master's student to conduct research under the supervision of Dr Spesihle Makhathini and Dr Sarah White at Rhodes University. The project involves using high-resolution MeerKAT radio images to identify the host galaxies of 140 bright extragalactic radio sources from the GLEAM 4-Jy Sample. The research will contribute to understanding how radio jets are launched and their impact on host galaxies, and will prepare data for future studies with the Square Kilometre Array.
