What this means
This document is a webpage announcement by the Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) for an “Induction Training for Trustees” programme. CMS will host a live, interactive virtual workshop over two half-day sessions for newly appointed Board of Trustees of medical schemes, covering topics such as the Medical Schemes Act, compliance, complaints and adjudication procedures, financial soundness, and regulatory updates. The programme is free of charge, is open to Fund Managers, Principal Officers and Trustees of open and closed medical schemes, and is a pre-requisite for the Trustee Development Programme (in collaboration with GIBS). The scheduled dates are 25–26 November 2026 (virtual classroom).
